My weekend here is now one of my favorite getaways to date. Really, this rustic-meets-chic home looks straight out of a forest fairytale. Just fifteen minutes from downtown Charlotte, the Carolina Treehouse is an Airbnb designed with dreamers in mind. Owners Alyssa & Brian describe it as a place for guests “to reset, reflect, and create.” From the vintage farmhouse decor to the scenic views from the deck and the dock, you can’t help but escape from reality here. These extra amenities really took our experience to the next level.
Farmhouse Decor
I’m a sucker for trendy decor, and this treehouse is full of it. This isn’t your grandma’s house! The minimal but thoughtful details felt both vintage and chic at the same time. You’ll notice this treehouse is a no television zone – perfect for a true retreat away from distractions.
Outdoor Shower & Robes
That’s right – the only shower here is outdoors! Shampoo, conditioner, and body wash are included. Plus, the doors are low enough to give you a view of the landscape while you shower. After you step out, step into one of the super soft robes and take in the deck views as you dry off.
Swing Bed & Hammock Net
In addition to a plush king bed inside, this treehouse has an outdoor swing bed complete with a fur blanket, overhead canopy lights, and a lake view. Want to get even more adventurous? Kick back and relax in the hammock net up on the deck.
Kayaks
Okay, this one surprised us. We had no idea that this treehouse came with a pair of kayaks. The lake is small (more like a pond), but you’ll spot ducks, geese, and a killer view of the house.
Fire Pit
You can’t have a weekend getaway in the woods without a bonfire, right? Luckily, the Carolina Treehouse includes a fire pit right on the water with two comfy Adirondack chairs. There’s plenty of kindling laying around the grounds – just make sure to pack matches!
Comfy Outdoor Deck
Perhaps the best part of this whole house was the deck. With a dining table, two basket chairs, a grill, and the hammock – you’ll probably want to spend all your time out here. It’s the perfect spot to enjoy your morning coffee or a happy hour cheese plate with wine.
