After months of quarantining and stay-at-home orders, just about everyone is itching for a getaway this year. The problem is, flocking to a crowded hotel or resort might not be the best way to keep yourself safe and those around you during a pandemic. My idea of an alternative? Contact-less, private Airbnbs for the weekend!
I’ve stayed in countless Airbnbs over the last few years and although some involve staying under the same roof as the host, not all do. I can count on one hand the number of Airbnb hosts I’ve actually met in person. There are plenty of Airbnb options out there that give you the place to yourself with zero face-to-face interaction required. Most hosts can email you the keypad code to your weekend digs!
Fellow east coast inhabitants, if you’re looking for a change of scenery from your own house where you can still be safe and limit interactions with others, here are 5 contactless Airbnbs that will give you the perfect weekend getaway!
DISCLAIMER: If you do decide to venture out of your Airbnb during your getaway, please wear a mask and social distance!
Pandemic-Friendly Activity: Find a nearby hiking trail in the Blue Ridge Mountains.

Pandemic-Friendly Activity: Go on a walking tour of downtown Durham’s murals.

If these Airbnbs are booked up for the weekend you want, fear not! There are plenty of similar ones in each of these cities that you can find. Happy adventuring!
